ICL Imaging Invests in the EFI VUTEk LX3 Pro LED Printer

The EFI VUTEk LX3 Pro LED printer is designed for high production throughput. That means higher volumes and shorter lead times, with stunning image quality and the versatility to support the widest range of media and applications.

Mark Eaton, Director of Operations at ICL, and Erik Scott, Director of Sales & Marketing, discussed some of the benefits clients will realize as a result of this technology.

Erik: Why are you excited about bringing the LX3 into the operation?
Mark: First and foremost, it’s about speed. It’s a huge increase in capacity for us. We can take on big jobs with tight turnaround times with confidence.

Erik: So just how much is the increase in capacity?
Mark: It sounds crazy, but the answer is 9X. With the older equipment, we could complete seven 4’ x 8’ boards per hour, for instance. That number is now sixty-four per hour! And we can also print materials on 5’ x 10’ boards, 10’ x 10’…
Erik: That’s incredible. I’m excited about the opportunities that will afford us to take on larger retail clients with time sensitive POP campaigns.
Mark: Definitely. Another plus is that we can run 10’ rolls on the machine, continuously and unattended. Or, we can run two 5’ rolls simultaneously. Just a lot of options, and a lot of throughput.

Erik: How would you describe the print quality?
Mark: It’s impressive, really. High resolution and grayscale technology, plus the ability to run color/white/color in one pass is fantastic.
